8. Internationales und 14. Baden-Württembergisches Kinder- und Jugendtheaterfestival
Das 8. Internationale und 14. Baden-Württembergische Kinder- und Jugendtheaterfestival SCHÖNE AUSSICHT präsentiert 13 internationale und 14 baden-württembergische Produktionen – in 49 Veranstaltungen an neun Tagen.
Ensembles aus Belgien, den Niederlanden, der Schweiz, Italien, Ungarn und Südafrika zeigen Theater, Tanz, Performances und Installationen auf höchstem Niveau und damit den aktuellen Stand der Kunst für Kinder im internationalen Kontext. Spannende, skurrile, lustige und ernste Geschichten für alle zwischen vier und 99 Jahren warten darauf, entdeckt zu werden.
Verbunden mit dem Festival sind traditionell die Theatertage der Baden-Württembergischen Kinder- und Jugendtheater. Elf Ensembles sind neun Tage lang zu Gast in Stuttgart, besuchen die internationalen Gastspiele, stellen jeweils eine eigene Inszenierung zur Diskussion und tauschen sich über Positionen und Entwicklungen des Kinder- und Jugendtheater aus.
Gespielt wird im JES und bei den Festivalpartnern FITZ!, Theater Rampe und Schauspiel Nord. Darüber hinaus sind in diesem Jahr das Wilhelma Theater und ein Supermarktparkplatz in Bad Cannstatt mit dabei.
Das alle zwei Jahre stattfindende Theaterfestival wird seit Jahr 2004 unter dem Dach des Jungen Ensembles Stuttgart (JES) ausgerichtet und ist mittlerweile zu einem international renommierten Festival geworden, das wichtige Impulse für die Arbeit in Baden-Württemberg und ganz Europa gibt.

8th International and 14th Baden-Württemberg Children and Youth Theatre Festival
Every 2 years the festival SCHÖNE AUSSICHT (Bright View) in Stuttgart focuses for one week on international and Baden-Württemberg Children and Youth Theatres. Extraordinary performances from Europe and abroad are presented to the public, both theatre people and the young audience, to show the amazing variety of theatre arts for children and youth. Since 2004, the festival is organised and curated by Junges Ensemble Stuttgart (JES), the city’s Children and Youth Theatre and since its opening one of the most renowned theatre houses for a young audience in Germany.
At the 8th international Children and Youth Theatre Festival Schöne Aussicht 2012, selected ensembles from Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary and South Africa show theatre and dance productions, performances and installations on a high level of quality and with this give an overview of the state of the art in children’s and youth theatre in an international context.
During the last 10 years SCHÖNE AUSSICHT has become the major international festival for children’s and youth theatre in Germany.
Along with the international programme, ten theatre companies from Baden-Württemberg show their latest productions and discuss them with other theatre professionals. Workshops and open discussions about children’s and youth theatre, its aims and latest developments add to the week’s programme. The festival distinguishes itself also through the fact that the encounters and conversations between the participating groups are an integral part of the programme. These kinds of “work meetings” enable a collegial exchange that is inspirational and valuable to all.
