The festival philosophers are a colorful group of young people between the age of 10 and 15. They watch all performances together and review them in small reflections. Through short statements or text, artistic interventions, memes or pictures they will leave a digital trace in the festival. Every day at noon a greeting will be put online at the festival’s social platforms. Don’t miss out!
How do we become self critical and able to critique the way we are producing, watching and communicating in theatre? Ten young European theatre makers will take their time during the festival to practice questioning, formulating Utopian ideas and opinions and fighting for them. The „Next Generation“ has its own goal: to use differences in generations productively. To understand our commonalities as something political and to practice solidarity, especially in times when the world has come to a standstill and the familiar things loose their stability.
In talks, communication tools and workshops, the NEXT GENERATION will become part of the online festival. We will conspire, open up dialog, and controversy and immerse ourselves in a Utopian Idea which might be even bigger than the festival itself.

Bright View is an international showcase for contemporary theatre for young audiences. We invited three groups of students to stroll through the festival and join the discussions. Students of dramaturgy, social work and cultural science combine their perspectives and invite each other for talks about the performances. How does each group speak about theatre? What takes their attention? What questions do they pose?
Manfred Jahnke (LMU München), Damaris Nübel (Katho Aachen), Maike Gunsilius and Isabel Schwenk (Uni Hildesheim) are our partners in crime, pushing theatre for young audiences to become an important part of the education in Universities. We are looking forward to meeting you all!
